Privacy policy
Last updated: 6 November 2026
What we collect
The email address or mobile number you sign in with (stored encrypted, with only a one-way hash used for lookup), how you signed in (Google, Apple or email), an optional display name, and your reports: category, location, description and photos. We never ask for your NID or home address.
Why
To sign you in, to prevent spam (at most 5 reports a day), and to send each report to the responsible authority and keep you updated.
Who sees it
Public reports are visible to everyone; private reports only to you and the authority concerned. You can hide your name. Only public reports are synced with the relevant city platform (for example Amar Rajshahi). Your phone number or email is never given to any authority. Sign-in is verified by Google Firebase, acting as our processor; we never publish your Google or Apple profile name.
How long
Resolved reports stay public for 2 years and are then anonymised. Deleting your account erases your personal data immediately; your reports remain, anonymised.
Your rights
From the “My reports” page you can download your data or delete your account (withdrawing consent) at any time.
Moderation
Reports containing phone numbers, emails or abusive language are checked by a moderator before publishing. Naming private individuals, party-political content and emergencies (call 999) are not allowed.
Comments and neighbour checks
When you comment on a public report you appear as a number (for example “Citizen 4821”) that is different on every report, so your comments cannot be linked together. You can choose to show your name instead. Authority staff reply in the name of their office. Comments containing phone numbers, emails or abusive language are checked by a moderator before they appear, and a comment reported by three people is hidden until it is reviewed. You can hide a person’s comments for yourself and delete your own. Discussion closes 30 days after a report is closed. “Still there / fixed now” answers are shown only as counts, never who gave them. Your comments and answers are included in your data download.
